Accessing CEO Mobile (See a quick demo)

How can I access CEO Mobile on my handheld device?

1. To access CEO Mobile on your handheld, simply go to http://pda.ceoexpress.com. Use the “Sign In” link at the top of the page to login to your personal account, using your CEOExpressSelect user name and password. If you need your login information, please click here.
2. Don’t have a CEOExpressSelect account? See “How do I register” below for more information on creating a free account.
3. Send yourself a text message that contains an embedded link that you can simply click on when it lands on your PDA—presto, you are there! To send yourself a text, just go to your CEOExpress homepage on your PC and click on your Mobile tab and follow the directions. (Can’t find your Mobile tab? Just click “Add Tab” and get another one)

How do I register for CEO Mobile?

If you are not a CEOExpressSelect member, you can create a free personal account on CEO Mobile, allowing you to customize the page. Just click the “Register” link at the top of the page to create an account. (If you are a CEOExpressSelect member, just log in with your Select user name and password.)

How can I access the CEO Mobile interface on my PC?

You can access CEO Mobile directly at http://pda.ceoexpress.com on your PC. You can also access the page through the Mobile tab on your CEOExpressSelect homepage on your PC. Lost your Mobile tab? Just click “Add Tab” on the left hand side of the page above your tabs menu.

What devices are compatible with CEO Mobile?

This first phase of the new mobile capability is limited to HTML browser enabled handhelds such as the Treo, Ipac and Blackberry. It will not yet work on WAP phones such as the Motorola Razr. We are planning a WAP version of the site in the near future. (However, more and more handhelds are browser enabled, so if you aren’t sure, just give it a try and see if the site shows up.)

Adding/Editing Content

How is the content on CEO Mobile arranged?

By default, you will see four “tabs” on CEO Mobile. You can access each by clicking the tab name at the top of the page. They include “News & Info” and “Fun” (which are tabs consisting of links nuggets provided by CEOExpress), “Feeds” (which is a tab including newsfeed nuggets, also provided by CEOExpress), and “My Stuff,” where you can add personal content, including links, stock, and weather nuggets, etc.

How can I add links to my CEO Mobile page?

You can add links to the existing links nuggets on CEO Mobile. They will appear at the end of the nugget, in a “My Links” subcategory, just like the CEOExpress Managed Nuggets on CEOExpress. To do so, simply click the yellow pencil at the top of the nugget.

You can also add entire links nuggets to your “tabs” by clicking the tab name. A yellow pencil will appear next to the tab name. Click the “Add Content” link at the top of that page. Choose to add a Links nugget to your tab. You can then add links to that nugget.

What kinds of links can I use?

Links to any sites can be added to your CEO Mobile page. However, we strongly recommend that you link to mobile or text-only versions of sites (when available), so that they will be easier to read and access on your mobile device.

Why can't I see my new link, or changes to existing links?

Mobile devices tend to cache content much more than your PC. If you are having trouble finding new links or changes that you have made to your page, please refresh your browser. (You may need to refresh more than once.)

I don't need all these links. How can I hide some of them?

You can hide any CEOExpress links that you do not need to display on your Mobile page. Just click the pencil next to the nugget name. All of the links in that nugget will be listed. Uncheck the check boxes next to any links you wish to hide, and click the "Update" button to save your changes. You can get those links back at any time.

Can I change my link layout?

To change the layout of your links from the one column layout to the “Classic” wrapping style, please click the yellow pencil to the right of your name at the top of your Mobile page.

Can I edit the page on my PC? In addition to using the site on your handheld device, you can access the page and make changes and additions on your PC. Simply log in to your CEOExpressSelect account, and click the Mobile tab. (Don’t have a Mobile tab? Just click “Add Content” on the left hand side of the page, above your tabs menu.) Use the pencils, links, and other editing tools in that tab to make changes to your CEO Mobile page, which will be reflected the next time you access the page on your mobile device. Can I edit the page on my mobile device?

You can edit the page on your mobile device, by clicking the pencils that you will find next to tab and nugget names. When making a lot of changes/adding links, you may want to work on your PC, but you can do everything on your mobile device that you can on the PC.

How is editing on my mobile device different from editing on my PC?

While the links and tools may look different on your mobile device, you can do almost everything from your handheld that you can do on your PC. However, you can only add new personal tabs from your PC, and new To-Do Lists must be created on your PC as well.

You also have the ability when accessing your Mobile tab on CEOExpressSelect (on your PC) to send text messages.

I’m not seeing the changes I’ve made when I look at the page on my mobile device. Why not?

Mobile devices notoriously cache pages – meaning when you return to the page you may be seeing the “old” version, not including any changes you have made. Simply refresh your browser to see these.

What kinds of nuggets are available to be added to CEO Mobile?

At this time, you can add Links, Weather, Stocks and News Feed nuggets. You can also create and access Notes and To-Do Lists at the top of the page.

How do I add an RSS news feed?

To add a nugget to your personal “tabs,” click the tab name. A yellow pencil will appear next to the tab name. Click the “Add Content” link at the top of that page. Choose to add a News nugget to your tab. A list of categories will appear. These are the feed categories from the CEOExpress RSS News Directory. Choose a category, and find a feed within that category. If you have added personal feeds to CEOExpress, those will be found in the Personal Feeds category, and can also be added to your mobile page.

How do my Notes work?

A link to Notes is located at the top of your Mobile page. Click that to view your notes in a list. Use the search box at the top to locate specific notes. Click the “Add Note” link at the top of the page to add a new note. You will see a number listed next to the “Notes” link at the top of the mobile page. This is the number of notes that you have set for today.

Do they match my notes on CEOExpress?

Yes. Any notes that you have added to CEOExpressSelect on your PC will be shown on your mobile site, and vice versa.

How do my To-Do lists work?

A link to To-Do Lists is located at the top of your Mobile page. Click that to view your To-Do lists. Each list will be listed by name on the To-Do page. Click the name to see that list. Use the “Add” link at the top of each To-Do to add items to that list. New To-Do Lists must be added from your PC, and will be automatically available on your handheld device once they are created. Please note: This feature is only available to CEOExpressSelect members.

Do they match my To-Dos on CEOExpress?

Yes. Any To-Do Lists that you have added to CEOExpressSelect on your PC will be shown on your mobile site, and vice versa.

I don't see any To-Do lists. How do I get started?

Your To-Do Lists come from your CEOExpressSelect homepage. Please go to CEOExpress on your PC to create these lists. Just click the tab to which you want to add the list, and then click "Add Content" on the left hand side of the page, above your tabs menu. Select "Notes/To-Do" and create a To-Do List. All lists created on CEOExpressSelect will appear on your Mobile page. Please note: This feature is only available to CEOExpressSelect members.

How do I change my weather city?

The weather city at the top of your Mobile page is tied to the home city on your CEOExpressSelect homepage. Click the weather to see a full forecast. You can choose a different city from the dropdown at the top of that page. These are the “travel cities” you have set up on CEOExpressSelect. To see weather for any other cities on your Mobile device, please add a Weather nugget to your page. To add a nugget to your personal “tabs,” click the tab name. A yellow pencil will appear next to the tab name. Click the “Add Content” link at the top of that page. Choose to add a Weather nugget to your tab. Once a new nugget has been added, click the pencil at the top to change the city.

I don’t use Notes/Weather/To-Do Lists. Can I turn them off?

If you do not use any of the features listed at the top of the page, you can turn them off. To do so, simply click the pencil next to your name at the top of the page, under the CEOExpress Mobile logo. Uncheck the check box next to any feature you wish to hide. You can bring it back at any time by checking the box.
