October 18th, 2007 After a long Indian summer, fall has arrived in Boston and it is lovely. I hope those of you from the Blue Mountains to the Rockies and beyond are enjoying this spectacular time of the year. This month we are looking for beta testers for a great new feature, and I have a fabulous software recommendation for you. Create your OWN CEOExpress "Friends and Family" Portal We have a great new feature coming later this month that allows you to publicly publish your collection of links and tabs as well as your favorite widgets and blogs. We have had a primitive version of this feature for a while, but this version is a huge upgrade--virtually a new product. You can give the portal your own name, and create your own url. Think about it. Your own personal custom CEOExpress, with links and widgets, that you can publish and share with friends and colleagues. You can even share a calendar and blog with friends, coworkers, teammates or family. You don't want your page to be fully public? No problem. You can password protect your portal, so only people who you invite to use the page can access it. Software Recommendation: Yugma! Yugma is Fantastic! It is a brand new web-conferencing application that is very similar to "Go To Meeting," but it costs nothing. It even includes audio conferencing with "mute all lines" control! It has lots of upgrades available, but if you just want a simple web conferencing solution for 10 or fewer participants it costs you nothing . I was impressed. It runs almost exactly like "Go To Meeting" and is also integrated with Skype. I took a Webinar with them this morning and they are going to give all their competitors a real run for their money. One really great thing is that you can have a free account forever and upgrade as needed for a month to a 100 or 500 person account and then back to the free account when your Webinar is over. This feature will give you and your users the option to not download anything if you only want them to "view only" your presentation.) It tells you how the markets around the world did yesterday and expectations for the opening of the markets today. I look for it every morning and in less than a minute I know what to expect for the day relative to the market.
