It's hard to believe that summer is over and the crisp evenings of early September are beginning here in Boston. We have some great changes coming to CEOExpressSelect this month, with a new and improved email system being put in place. This, along with an RSS News Center coming later this fall, will round out a great year of upgrades to your personal desktop portal.
September New and Notable:
Our new email system: On September 15th, we will be migrating to a new email system. Our new vendor provides a superior product with more advanced features and increased storage. For those of you who use the CEOExpress email, on September 15th, you will see two mail icons above your name. One of these icons will be for the new mail, the other for the old mail. You will have a two-week period of overlap where you will be able to access both email systems so that no mail will be lost and you can transfer over your address book and important mail. We sent out an email last week to all email users explaining the new system and you will be getting another letter describing all the changes and what you need to do for the switch. We expect an uneventful migration and believe you will be quite pleased with the new service.
Coming soon: Private label email--with your domain. Soon we will be able to set up your email to any domain you own--get your email for your office and be able to access it via the web, your email reader or your handheld PDA or phone. Stay tuned for more details in November.
September's "Did you know we had this feature?" Have you ever used our VIP Concierge service? It is great and a free service with your CEOExpress Select membership. Take a look at how to use it. Whether you need to figure out the best PDA or find a great restaurant in Provence, our concierge is here to help.
CEOExpress Gift Subscriptions at Half Price! You enjoy CEOExpress--now share it with a friend or colleague: Now through Election day, you can give a full year subscription for CEOExpressSelect to a friend or colleague for only $29.95. These are full subscriptions with concierge, our new expanded email, finance center, and all the new features we are adding to CEOExpressSelect this year. What a great benefit for your staff or a friend--a personal concierge service AND CEOExpress. We have specialized greetings to meet any occasion or sentiment. It only takes one minute. Click here to give a gift.
CEOExpressSelect Member gets great reviews of his book "Lost Knowledge": The retirement of the baby boom generation is going to cause a serious knowledge loss in organizations. Dr. David DeLong, a research fellow at MIT's AgeLab (and CEOExpressSelect member), has just created the first comprehensive framework to help leaders retain critical organizational knowledge despite an aging workforce and increased turnover among mid-career employees. Lost Knowledge: Confronting the Threat of an Aging Workforce spells out the serious costs of attrition when this human capital starts to rapidly disappear. Click here for more information
September Software Tip: Hot off the press--GoToMeeting! From the people who brought you GoToMyPC, comes their web conferencing product, GoToMeeting. I was one of their beta testers and was very impressed. GoToMeeting allows you to have a unlimited number of web conferences at the unbelievably low price of $49.00 month! It is feature-rich and it includes a unique (optional) call in access number that is connected to your meeting. The great thing about the call in number feature is that there is no charge to you. Each person dials in and pays for their own connection, thereby greatly decreasing the cost of the web conference to you.You can use your already existing call conferencing system if you prefer. It's up to you. You can have web conferences every day and it will never cost you more than $49/month. They have a free trial. Click here to try it. It is terrific.
Newsletter Archive: To refer to a previous newsletter, visit our Newsletter Archive, which can now be found on both the 'Customize Your Page' and 'Scratch Pad and Notes' pages.
Ad-Free Log-in Page: Another reminder about a feature we added earlier this year. If you're traveling or just want to avoid the banner and pop-under ads on the public CEOExpress, go to http://www.ceoexpress.com/login for our preferred member login page. If you sign in to your personal desktop each day, be sure to set this page as your homepage.
