Is legal immigration a positive or negative for the United States?

It's positive and necessary for the economy and our aging society
It's negative because it takes jobs from present middle class Americans
It's more complex, let me explain

Robert,

"You're getting like Robb in failing to distinguish the momentary slice from the finish line."

Awww now Robert. I'm surprised at you. First off, I look @ the Real/True facts and make my assessments based on them, not alternative facts as Robb does his. Second, if things continue at Trump's current rate of decay his "momentary slice" will be over even before it gets recorded for posterity so if you want to take note of anything, you better get out your high-speed camera or you'll blink and miss it altogether.

----------------------

"The next finish line is November 2020."

True enough but Trump has to manage to make it to 2020 before it even matters. At his current pace I'm not exactly sure how far he'll manage to make it but it won't even be that far.

----------------------

"As much as the Democrats have tried to obstruct - they really have accomplished nothing whatsoever..."

Sorry Robert but why should the Donkeys even bother to get in his way???? He's doing such a FINE job of obstructing himself. The only thing I'm hoping for is that someone else (aside from HRC) is around when 2020 finally does arrive. Her we don't need another glimpse of much less another candidacy from.

At @ this point there's no telling who the Pachy's will nominate to replace the "Dumpster" (sic).

Oh how funny. After 7 years of the GOP obstructing Obamacare, and voting to repeal it 60 times, you're looking for the minority party to come up with solutions?

You want to see how Trump will be under stress, watch The Caine Mutiny and pay close attention to Captain Queeg. In the past for Trump when the going got tough the tough either got bailed out by daddy or filed bankruptcy. No such bailout for the president.

trumpites are like their hero. They can never, never admit that the fault is theirs. They always blame their mistakes on others.

You sound like a man who has very little exposure to the nature of deals. That's fine - other than the fact that you sound a bit childlike when you display it. In general the details are quiet until after the implications are already in effect.

As with other issues where you eagerly bob up and down with you tail wagging... you will simply have to be patient and see.

Robert, Repeal and Replace was going to be quick and easy. Those were the little hands guy's words. You were going to get tired of winning. Tired yet?

That's the thing. A handful of them go into a room and cobble together a piece of garbage with zero input, then Fahrbach screams obstruction. It was like a term paper cobbled together the night before it was due, then they wondered why they got an "F."

Perfect analogy except the GOP Senate leadership didn't even let their own Senators write the piece of crap. They farmed it out to staffers and kept everyone in the dark as to what was in it.
trump's negotiating skills were shown with his conversation with the president of Mexico. He just wanted him to stop saying that Mexico wouldn't pay for it, even though they both knew that was the truth. This is deal making???

As to Trump's survival... I am far more concerned with his weight than his politics. That aside, I don't dabble in fortune telling... we will have to pick this up in January, 2021.

I must also disagree on Robb. He does not rely on alternative facts - he simply states whatever he thinks promotes his cause - facts be damned. (You can see how far it has gotten him and how disassociated reality is from what his predictions of it were. His single strong point is his shamelessness.

...and the Donkeys? Their greatest fear of Donald Trump is that they don't have one. Ralph Nader is about the best they can resurrect right now. I'm hoping Trump will manage to get presidential term limits repealed so we can watch Trump, Clinton (the real one), Nader and Bush (the old one) fight it out in 2024 - with a Presidential debate broadcast in midair during a parachute jump.

I think Robert believes that things cannot get worse than they already are. He's wrong. They can and will.
The two Congressional committees are still gearing up as is the Special Counsel's investigation. They've identified the weak sisters that want to do a plea deal. They already withdrew the subpoena from Manafort because he has agreed to cooperate. They are letting Flynn twist in the wind while he decides how much he is willing to offer for amnesty.
