If you could turn back the clock, which one of these tech companies would you invest in?

Apple
Google
Microsoft
Facebook
Amazon
More than one of the above (which ones?)
A different company

I know I don't want to invest in coal, but do invest in green technology companies.

The ONLY way the Coal Industry, or ANY Fossil Fuel source, should be brought back if IF, repeat IF, they are held to a ZERO EMISSION standard FOR REAL.

And one more thing: I'd make that ZERO EMISSION standard applicable from the BEGINNING of extraction to END of consumption and hold the relevant Fossil Fuel company liable for the entire expense.

But of course everybody knows that won't happen.

Dell and Microsoft was the place to be in the '90's

My wife and I bought an IMac for the kids when they were young.

She thought it was cute. I bought 200 shares the next day and put them into custodial accounts.

Within a couple years, the company was nearly bankrupt. I hung on.

Jobs came back, and it eventually paid for 2 years of college for my oldest daughter. Today her shares would be worth close to $850k.

I still own Apple.

But who really knew?

A computer company that change the music industry, transformed the cell phone market, and now has imaging market turned upside down.

Dell fell by the wayside, Microsoft, not so much.

AMZ, I never invested in because I saw no potential for profit.
Bezos created a new paradigm, where market share has replaced profit.

Amazing, but is it tulip bulbs? Don't know.

I totally agree, but it is automation and economics that have killed coal. Nothing trump can do is going to make coal relevant again, let alone a major fuel source.
Did you see that Manafort had over $60 million in loans from the Russians. The drip, drip, drip is going to a gusher like those super fund water wells in Puerto Rico.

This whole coal thing is such a crock of BS.

"China is crushing the U.S. in renewable energy"

"China may be the planet's biggest polluter but it's also powering ahead of other countries on renewable energy.
As the Trump administration yanks the U.S. out of the Paris climate change agreement, claiming it will hurt the American economy, Beijing is investing hundreds of billions of dollars and creating millions of jobs in clean power.
China has built vast solar and wind farms, helping fuel the growth of major industries that sell their products around the world."

How about the government putting some money into retraining like Google just did:

Google commits $1 billion in grants to train U.S. workers for high-tech jobs
