Both State and Defense think negotiation and diplomatic initiatives are the FIRST choice. None of the bone spur guy's senior advisors think that insulting and threatening NK is a good strategy, but the Velveeta Raccoon knows more than the generals. "He's going to handle it."

Yeah, I keep scratching my head about the deficit and the republicans (former) obsession with the increasing deficit. Where are the deficit hawks of old?

There was a suggestion yesterday to put a "hard stop" in the law, that if the wildly optimistic growth numbers don't happen and the deficit increases even more, that the entire plan would suddenly stop. I'm not kidding. A "trigger" that would reverse all the tax cuts.

"The Senate is planning to vote on its tax bill as soon as Thursday, and Corker is promising it will contain an as-yet unseen measure reversing the tax cut if the GOPís projections about the billís impact on the debt turn out to be too rosy in future years."

Here are the Republican Deficit Hawks and their positions: https://www.politico.com/interactives/2017/tax-bill-senate-house-hurdles/

I hope so too. I suspect they would be in a great deal more danger from NK - and other nations who would regard our weakness as a 'go sign' - if we let them continue on this path.

Don't you? (Have you forgotten Bill Clinton's deal with NK in which he assured us we have no more trouble from them?)

What are you suggesting we do that Bill Clinton did not already try?

Your simple minded post shows you are as bad at math as M BSer. 57% pay taxes, but the richest 2% benefit from these tax cuts disportionately. Both they and corporations are doing very well and don't need a tax cut. The middle class is doing poorly and does.
Noel has posted a good list of all the things we need MORE money to address, not less, starting with the three hurricanes and our failing infrastructure. Why would any but the greedy think we need a tax cut which will balloon the deficit $2 trillion. Explain that.

Pat yes the rally is nice; however sold my AMZN which was originally bought around $81 and buying a new motor home for cash, nice, Travel a lot. With the new tax write off should be able to write it off, business expense, in one year, President Trumpís been really great for the market.

However, you say you always voted republican, but not this time, think you just saying that to get your forum upsetÖ you really vote for Trump didnít ya; there wasnít any better choice( know you like Hillary, in fact remember an early post, in 2016, that you sited Hillary would win and bet you she would not, she didn't ).

Side note: You know Nancy Pelosi and media enablers such as Joe Scarborough are defending politicians like Rep. John Conyers and Sen. Al Franken. Pat, Americans should never hear again that the Democrats stand for women.

So since you are so concerned about the deficit you oppose the GOP tax cuts that benefit the rich and corporations and balloon the deficit another $2 trillion?

I hope your family is safe when Trump causes a nuclear war to start. As I remember, you are pretty close to DC. Maybe Kim won't be able to aim so well. You need to hope at least. I hope neither your nor my family is impacted.

Not so sure about South Korea. But then, they are foreign, so why should a US citizen care if millions die. They look different and they don't speak English.

But, the stock market won't do so well with world destruction at hand. Oh, well.

Sorry. That's just too intellectually profound for a simple person like myself.
