We have to laugh at ourselves over the awkward way we hide from serious problems by inventing nonsense that we imagine we CAN solve - and then spending all of our time arguing about meaningless solutions to our own fiction.

I was thinking about this while watching Macron's (France) speech last night on how it's time to take sexual abuse seriously around the world.

That's hysterical.

If our starving populations were distributed evenly among us, our neighborhoods (which are already dotted with homeless - but well fed - pan handlers) would see that 1 in every 9 people on the street had that death camp look we only admit to in documentaries.

Where are all the liberals?

The truth is - NO ONE WANTS TO FEED THESE PEOPLE. They are too inconvenient to care about. Worse, the make believe aide we sprinkle around the world like so many table scraps simply gives them more opportunity to make more starving people. Thus 1 in 5, became 1 in 6 - and now is 1 in 9.

Worse again. We can't feed them. If we actually gave a crap - we might get by for a year. Maybe even a decade. But then the problem would simply get worse and worse until some major eruption or famine brought all the chickens home to roost.

The world is hardly made of racists, misogynists and all the other crap we've invented. Its just made up of people.

People are the only game on earth. If that's not your game... your problem to solve... at least spare us the distraction of your self-administered illusions. That is why modern liberalism is so vulgar.

Didn't Macron as a 15 year old school boy met his future wife Bridgett?

She's 64, he is 39

Different culture I guess.

As it happens, that's my wife's age. He was smarter than me - he's got her at her best while he's still at the top of his game. Damn French know their way around women.
