But, not for the reason he thinks.

While you may think you are amoral - I think you are fooling yourself a bit.

This will sound a bit corny; but, morality comes a bit from both "god/God" (whatever that may be in one's life) and from within. Most, not all, know what is intrinsically correct; and, try to act based upon that core.

As for the top of the food chain - it would be interesting to learn your definitions of what encompasses a gangster / accident.

Morality and necessity are not necessarily exclusionary. It depends upon the definition of necessity.

Have a grand day.

We agree on the key issues.

Morality is possible when based on that intrinsic knowledge you refer to in people. It is then reflected in the laws which provide the practical application of that morality.

It does not, however, exist in the Lion kingdom. Lions don't obey laws. Similarly, it does not exist in the human kingdom if they (especially those at the top of the food chain) do not obey them.

In this place and time, they do not.

Hence the source of morality - human acknowledgement - has left it swinging in the breeze.

The important thing here is the behavioral cliff at the top of our chain... which recognizes no restraints... and the middle - which fails to understand that the top is living in an amoral vacuum that provides freedoms and activities that they can not even get their arms around.

Activities viewed as conspiracy theories in the middle are everyday realities at the top.

Correct, it does not apply in the lion kingdom; nor would I expect it to. While not meaning to insult lions - their thought process is different than a human.

Your comment regarding the "top of the food chain" is correct. For me, the issue is the fact a number of middle of the chain humans don't expect those at the top to "obey the laws". This problem has been building for a long time in our society. This problem really came roaring out of the woodwork with the Clinton Administration and the happy horsedh!t that his/their followers were willing to accept; because it was their guy/gal. In the past, when a Republican "screwed up"; his/her own ate them. Not with the Left. Only now that many Republicans are tired of playing by the "moral" rules; and, have accepted the invitation to play by the Democrat rules are those on the Left crying "ouch".

Daniel Henninger had a good commentary discussing this matter in a related way.

Basically, the Left has lead the dumbing down of society/culture and are now realizing - ooops.
