The FBI should not investigate a California professor's allegations of sexual assault against U.S. Supreme Court pick Brett Kavanaugh, President Donald Trump said on Tuesday, adding that he wanted his nominee to be confirmed quickly.

A Republican U.S. Senate committee chairman said on Tuesday the woman who has accused President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault decades ago has not yet agreed to appear at a public hearing planned for Monday.

Photo Illustration by Sarah Rogers/The Daily BeastSo the Senate Judiciary Committee has agreed to delay its vote on Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court until after he and Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused him of sexual assault, testify Monday.

That testimony is coming after Republican Senators Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski said they could not vote for Trump's nominee without hearing him, and his accuser, testify under oath after Chairman Charles Grassley, who'd initially shrugged off the accusations, proposed a phone call with her. And surely the Republican women on the panel will ensure that Ford is treated with respect.

Or they would if there were any Republican women there. In fact, Republicans haven't seen their way clear to elevate a woman to the sought-after committee since they disgraced themselves with their brutal treatment of Anita Hill in 1991.

Seth Meyers Calls Out GOP Senators: ‘Stop Dismissing' Kavanaugh Allegation
NBCAs everything around President Donald Trump seems to crumble, Seth Meyers described his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh as his one "ace in the hole." Until now.

"You know what's a little incriminating?" the Late Night host asked. "If you're accused of sexual assault and you just happen to have on hand a list of other women you didn't sexually assault."

Meyers went after Fox News host Jeanine Pirro for attacking Senator Dianne Feinstein for supposedly concealing evidence about the alleged assault and questioning whether accuser Christine Blasey Ford even exists, as well as Republican senators for dismissing the whole thing as nothing more than an "intergalactic freakshow."
