Your CEOExpress® Email Has Been Discontinued
You likely reached this page because you were looking for your email password, because you are getting an error message from an email client (like Outlook or Thunderbird) or the email app on your phone. All CEOExpress email accounts have been turned off (as was scheduled for December 17, 2020), so wherever you were previously receiving your CEOExpress email through POP or IMAP, your connection will no longer work.
But, I've asked to have my CEOExpress email forwarded to a new address...
The set up in your mail client/phone and the forwarding of CEOExpress email are two separate things. Because CEOExpress mail has been discontinued, the set up you have in Outlook/Thunderbird/etc will no longer collect new mail and needs to be turned off. The account set up in your mail client is attached to your now non-existent CEOExpress account and will continue to give you error messages until you take steps to stop that from happening.
If you set up forwarding before our deadline, your CEOExpress address has been set to forward messages to your designated non-CEOExpress account. This means that new mail sent to your CEOExpress email address will go to your other mail account. If you still want those messages to appear in your mail client/on your phone, you'll need to set up your non-CEOExpress account there. (Unsure if your mail is being forwarded? Simply send yourself a test message to your CEOExpress address and make sure that it arrives in your non-CEOExpress account.)
So how do I get my mail client to stop looking for CEOExpress messages?
To solve the issue of the error message you're probably now seeing, you need to stop your mail client from looking for mail coming directly from CEOExpress - that is no longer happening. If you were using POP to gather mail, you likely do not want to delete the CEOExpress account from your mail client - if you do that, you'll lose any mail already saved there. What you want to do is stop it from trying to gather new mail. Below is the best recommendation we could find to do that for Outlook. If you're using a different mail client or an app on your phone you'll need to take similar steps.
Change send/receive group settings - Outlook
You want to follow the instructions on that page for "Change your send/receive settings." Under item #3 at the top, it says "If you only want to send and receive mail when you press F9, clear the first Schedule an automatic send/receive every n minutes option." That's what you want to do. You will NOT be able to receive mail when pressing F9, but this will stop Outlook from trying to get new mail on its own.
Thanks, but I may still need more help
