Foot Locker's stock falls in wake of Nike's downbeat sales outlook
Shares of Foot Locker Inc. dropped 3.7% in premarket trade Friday, in the wake of Nike Inc. stock pullback on a downbeat sales outlook. In Foot Locker's 10-K filing for the fiscal year-ended Feb. 3, 2018 (the 10-K for the year ended February 2019 has not yet been filed), the athletic footwear seller said it was "highly dependent" on Nike, as about 67% of all merchandise bought in 2017 was from Nike, with each operating division buying 44% to 73% of their merchandise from Nike during the year. As a result, Foot Locker said any "adverse development" in Nike could have an "adverse effect on our business, financial condition and results of operations." Nike's stock dropped 4.8% ahead of Friday's open, after the company reported late-Thursday fiscal third-quarter earnings that topped expectations, but sales that matched and provided a fourth-quarter sales growth outlook that was below expectations. Foot Locker's stock has rallied 23% over the past three months through Thursday, while Nike shares have climbed 22% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average has rallied 16%.

Electric cars should stream TV when they are fast-charging
Topic: Going GreenThe question every electric car buyer asks is how convenient charging will be, and how much will the range limit my travel - known as "range anxiety."

Deserted outlet malls aren't really exciting places to spend some quality time

Once cars get over about 200 miles of range, they tend to eliminate most such anxiety for drives in an urban area. Fast charging, such as Tesla superchargers, fills in the gap for road trips or days with extremely high amounts of driving. In normal use, it's less work and time to plug the car in each night than it is to visit a gas station and fill up once or twice a week the way gasoline drivers do.

Supercharging still takes more time. People tend to spend at least 20 minutes, which can gain them about as much as 120 miles of extra range, though they often spend longer if not in a hurry or on a long trip. Here, it loses to the gasoline fill-up, in that the fill-up only takes about 3 minutes and you usually don't have to go very far out of your way for one, unless you are nuts about price. So people want an activity when supercharging. If it's meal time, there is usually somewhere to eat at the charging stations -- though sometimes the selection can be quite limited, and you usually want a fast meal, not a lingering sit-down restaurant. What shopping there is can be quite variable.

The answer for many is to stare a

Will people with robocars hire them out as taxis when they are not using them?
Topic: Robocars Getaround lets people search for privately owned cars today

Will your private car hire itself out as a robotaxi when you're not using it? Back in my 2008 fictional story A week of robocars I was one of the first to talk about this idea. Indeed, I have written for some time that there will be 5 main types of car users in the robocar world

Those who continue with their manually driven cars Those who own a robocar strictly for their private use. Those who own a private robocar, but have it hire itself out when not being used by its owner. Those who reduce private ownership (ie. go from 2 cars to 1) due to robotaxi use. Those who give up private ownership of cars and exclusively use robotaxis and transit. Many people like #3, and Tesla has even declared it will operate such a network for Tesla owners will full self drive to hire out their cars. In 2009, a group of our students created car-sharing company "Getaround," partly due to inspiration from my 2006 proposal. Getaround lets people do short term rentals of private cars and recently got a $300 million investment round from Softbank.

In spite of that early excitement, I have grown to think that group 3 will be fairly small. It derives too much from old-s
