Trump Whistleblower Saga Threatens to Blow Up 2020 Campaign

Two outlets on Thursday night reported that the complaint in question involves President Trump and matters related to Ukraine. Those outlets, The Washington Post and The New York Times, did not go much further than those details. But earlier reports said that what prompted the whistleblower to come forward was a pledge made by Trump to a foreign leader. 

The complaint was explosive enough to prompt the intelligence community's inspector general to bring it to the attention of the director of national intelligence, who has not made it available to Congress in part because of objections from the Department of Justice.

Hannity: ‘I Was Happy' That Whistleblower Complaint Is About Ukraine
Fox NewsAt the same time that President Donald Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani was on CNN denying (then admitting) that he urged the Ukrainian government to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, Trump's shadow chief of staff was insisting on Fox News that he was "happy" that a whistleblower complaint against Trump involves Ukraine.

Leading off his primetime program by downplaying the bombshell news about the intelligence community's whistleblower complaint, Fox News host Sean Hannity complained that the "media mob" has been "breathlessly" reporting on the story over the past 24 hours.

After referencing past president's promises to world leaders—including President Barack Obama telling then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he'd have more "flexibility" after the 2012 election—Hannity circled back to the reports surrounding the whistleblower.
