The McKinsey Global Survey of Business Executives: Business and Society
  • Executives around the world overwhelmingly embrace the idea that the social role of a modern corporation goes far beyond meeting its obligations to shareholders, according to the latest McKinsey Global Survey of Business Executives.
  • Yet executives, wary of the risks such obligations bring, say that their companies aren't adept at anticipating or managing social obligations.
  • Executives believe that CEOs must take the lead in managing sociopolitical issues and that effective tactics include ethics policies, stakeholder engagement, and transparency about the risks of products or processes.
