Something else — what?

Several individuals on the forum have posted that trump has “improved” the image of the US overseas. There is nothing that supports this. It might seem like a subjective judgment to say that Donald Trump is wrecking America’s image. But a new Pew poll of 37 countries shows that this is measurable reality: Perceptions of the United States have collapsed since President Trump took office.
“Fire and Fury” is making that opinion even worse. Foreigners now view the US with both distain and fear.

Does anyone remember a TV show "Person of Interest"? A super computer built to find terrorists but also sees violence against any American?

"60 Minutes" tonight had a segment about Chicago's reduction of violence program that finds those most at risk to shoot someone or be shot by someone. Program cost said to be $3 million. Program said to be working.

Now is such technology "for" something or "against" something? If cost is only $3 million and works, its a marvel at that price whether you think it is just TV dreams or new technology innovation.

Patricia once had a forum question 'Should prominent people have the right for a 'do-over' in answering questions, especially when their answers are so out-of-synch with either the question itself or their past positions on that issue?'

How many times has Trump or his minion mouth-pieces (Conway or Huckabee-Sanders)said some stupid thing one day only to have to walk it back or say how the media 'got it wrong' and this new statement is what they really meant?

It is said Steve Bannon now is denying what he was quoted as saying about Trump, I guess out of fear from the Deplorables (who apparently don't agree any American has the right of free speech). BTW- what can I say about an extremist like Bannon who resembles more like a homeless drunk than a former Navy officer?

Was the book a sham? Was it all a joke with Trump pulling the strings? Was it an example of being for Trump while blaming the writer, the publisher, Bannon and others quoted in the book? Or was it a classic expose AGAINST Trump and his extremist, uncertain actions day after day?

I suppose we on the forum could continue our daily wack a mole beatings by the Usual Suspects (White Hats) against Rick or D Robb, or perhaps the adults on the forum could continue to point out the delusions and insanity by those same usual suspects ad infinitum.

When I first saw this question I marveled at what a great topic this was for this group as this group was a micro-verse of what is going on in Congress and in the nation of divided parties.

1. To disparage D Robb and others for their many contributions to the forums is simply stupid. Patricia has allowed all to state their views no matter how delusional and allow the forum to decide the level of insanity or credibility of those contributions.

2. Since M Bathurst and Robert have stated that FACTS are not necessary in such discussions, but individual experience is all that is needed Trump's TV approach to ruling the nation domestically and internationally has washed over into what is now acceptable in common everyday interaction.

3. I personally find Patricia's patience with me and the group refreshing. I find those who support their views with sources (however credible) intriguing. I find it alarming when so many use delusions to address the robber baron destruction of America as being 'for the good of the nation'.

4. I perhaps am as responsible for running the forum discussion off track as any other, however, if you can not connect the dots between everyday life and how Trump is imitating Nero for his delusions as America burns in conflict and source this fake news president as the root cause, then you are missing the point of why Trump is destroying what made America Great.

You did not respond to my points. Therefore, I guess you stipulate by your lack of reply that you’ve been, in absence of a better term, “trumped”.

Take care.

Yes, I remember it well. It was wrong then, and it is wrong now. trump has an amazing ability to bring out the worst in people. He has made the haters, racists, and white supremacists believe that their awful beliefs are something to be proud of. Awful.

You missed the obvious, Heiress. I wasn't speaking of language. I was speaking of the reality that the older, Cuban expats were forced out of Cuba and define themselves by their anti-Castro politics, and their belief that they should be reimbursed for the property they left behind. They have neither sympathy nor understanding of the average Cuban living in Cuba today.

If you showed up here more often, Ms P you would recognize what's ignorance and what isn't.
