An Ebola outbreak in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda has been declared a "public health emergency of international concern" by the World Health Organization.

The CDC said in a statement on Sunday that it was working to coordinate the "safe withdrawal of a small number of Americans who are directly affected in outbreak areas."

Just a day after the outbreak was announced, cases were confirmed in the capitals of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. There is no approved vaccine for the strain.
