Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney called President Donald Trump last night to let him know that he would drop the tax, the White House press secretary said.
Canada scrapped a digital services tax that would have hit U.S. tech companies such as Google and Amazon after President Trump halted trade talks and threatened higher tariffs on Canadian imports.
Ottawa said Prime Minister Mark Carney and President Donald Trump had agreed to resume negotiations on a trade agreement and would aim to reach a deal by July 21.
