Hank Azaria Won't Voice Apu ‘Anymore' on ‘The Simpsons'
Hank Azaria has confirmed once and for all that he won't be doing the voice of Indian American convenience-store proprietor Apu Nahasapeemapetilon anymore on "The Simpsons.""I won't be doing the voice anymore, that's all we know. Unless there's some way to transition it or something," the "Brockmire" actor told reporters after the panel for his IFC series Thursday at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour."What they're going to do with the character is their call, it's up to them, they haven't sorted that out yet," Azaria said of "The Simpsons" team. "All we agreed on is that I won't do the voice anymore. We all had made the decision together, we all feel it was the right thing and good about it," he continued.Reps for the show declined to comment Friday. Also Read: Hank Azaria on Future of 'Brockmire': 'I Bet We Find Some Other Life for It'The character has long been a flashpoint for critics who see negative stereotypes given Apu's very thick accent and his job running a convenience store. The fact that the character is voiced by Azaria, who is white, only fanned the flames — even leading to a 2017 documentary, "The Problem With Apu."The actor spoke about the character on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" in 2018, and an episode of "The Simpsons" that year tried — and failed — to quell criticism of the character. At the time, Azaria said he was willing to step down from the role to make things right. "My eyes have been opened," he said on "Colbert." "I think the most important thing is we have to listen to Sou

Reacting to reports that Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) told fellow presidential hopeful Sen. Sanders has denied that he made the comment to Warren, while the Massachusetts senator insisted in a statement that it did happen.Co-host Sunny Hostin said she doesn't "doubt that he perhaps said that.""Because when you read Hillary [Clinton]'s book, she does say that all of the innuendo and all of the Bernie Sanders attacks really led the way and paved the way for Trump calling her ‘Crooked Hillary,'" Hostin added. "So she thinks Bernie's attacks really harmed her."McCain, meanwhile, insisted that this is a big story because Sanders "hurt Hillary Clinton so much in the last election."She went on to say that while Sanders has a "good reputation" in Washington and is known as being congenial, "his supporters have a bad reputation—meaning the ‘Bernie bros.'""It's actually one of the few things that really connects liberal pundits and conservative female pundits together is just a level of misogyny—look at Twitter, and some of the accounts they do—directed towards specifically women, women in politics, and wom

Joe Scarborough: GOP Won't Come on ‘Morning Joe' to Talk Debt Unless ‘Democrats Are in the White House'
During a Monday conversation on "Morning Joe" with former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci and other market experts, MSNBC's Joe Scarborough complained that Republican officials are inconsistent with concerns about national finances."You know," Scarborough said, "it used to be that I could get Republicans on this show to also talk about  massive spending … again ginning up the economy, overheating the economy, the $23 trillion national debt."Republicans, they only seem to care about deficits or debts when Democrats are in the White House, but man, we're looking at bigger spending and more fiscal recklessness than ever before this year," he added. Also Read: Joe Scarborough Tells GOP to 'Speak Up Now' After Trump Attacks Elijah Cummings and Baltimore (Video)Libertarian party chairman Nicholas Sarwark agreed, saying, "Absolutely. You can hear it in that jobs report. You can see the seeds of the destruction."Scarborough has hit the GOP many times on his show during the era of President Donald Trump's administration, saying Republicans are "damned by [their] own silence." In July, he addressed the party directly: "I'm getting really tired of having to tell you this and please, please, please, don't write your books about ‘how I won the war' after Donald Trump leaves town. Speak up now because if you don't, Donald Trump is going to bring you down."Read original story Joe Scarborough: GOP Won't Come on ‘Morning Joe

‘The Mandalorian': Meet the Actor Who Punched the $5 Million Baby Yoda
Adam Pally is a lifelong "Star Wars" fan who got the chance of a lifetime when he was cast to play a Scout Trooper on "The Mandalorian." What he didn't know at the time is that he would do something that would make his character more hated than Jar Jar: he had to punch Baby Yoda.Pally appeared in the Disney show's season finale alongside Jason Sudekis as a pair of scouts tasked with delivering the powerfully Force sensitive Baby Yoda to Moff Gideon, played by Giancarlo Esposito. Pally's scout, curious about why the alien child was so wanted, stuck his finger out at Baby Yoda, who bit it. In response, Pally gives Baby Yoda a hard jab.According to Entertainment Weekly, Pally was asked about the scene at the Television Critics Association's Winter Press Tour on Saturday, where he was promoting the upcoming NBC comedy "Indebted." Pally said that his friend and "Mandalorian" showrunner Jon Favreau offered the cameo role to him simply by telling him that he "needed somebody to do something special."Also Read: Why 'The Mandalorian' Saved 'Star Wars': Starlight Runner CEO on Building Buzz Around a StoryAnd while it was a dream come true for Pally to put on the Scout Trooper's helmet, he got very nervous after he did the first take of the punch when Favreau told him that the Baby Yoda puppet he was decking "costs, like, $5 million.""‘So while I want you to hit it, I just want you to know that,'" Pally recalled Favreau telling him. "I think I took a big swing at it. And the next three takes I mis
